Danish outfit The Asteroids Galaxy Tour drop their latest effort Out
of Frequency, dosing the dancefloor in swanky horns, psychedelic funk
swagger in a sunny pop shell.
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour set
the tone for the band's sophomore effort with interludes "Gold Rush Pt.
1 & 2" and "Dollars In the Night" needless tracks that act as
mire distractions to the real gold which finally kicks in on track 4,
"Major" a slinky seduction number chalk full of brassy horns and sassy
swagger.
While lead single "Heart Attack" is a sunny pop anthem on
hyperdrive, with an instantly catchy melody, it's sure to be a house
party favourite. Elsewhere, the hazy, swirling psych-pop of title track
"Out of Frequency" and big band strut of "Cloak and Dagger" make for
exhilerating pop.
Out of Frequency achieves an effortless cool, turning out pop gems.
Taking no prisoners on "Fantasy Friends Forever" with its thumping
beat, and expansive sound it's bright, technicoloured pop that's
irresistible and warms the chilly winter months.
